Electric Supply, Inc. is located in the downtown area known as the Capitol Mall, the area surrounding the Arizona State Capitol. This is an important part of the agenda of the Phoenix Community Alliance (PCA), a group of concerned citizens and businesses that advocate for the downtown area of Phoenix . Among the important priorities of PCA are the establishment of the downtown campus of Arizona State University , the establishment of a Medical School in the downtown, the passage of and implementation of the Light Rail System, and the establishment of the Genomics Research Center . Jim Morlan, President and Owner of Electric Supply, Inc. serves on the Executive Committee of the PCA.
The trade association that represents the Electrical Distribution industry is the National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED). Electric Supply, Inc. is active in the NAED, with Jim Morlan having recently served on the Board of Directors and then as Chairman of the organization. Bill Morlan has served as Chairman of YET, the organization within NAED that develops the emerging talent of the industry and on the Board of NAED. He currently represents Arizona and New Mexico on the NAED Western Regional Council.
A part of the NAED is the National Education and Research Foundation, the non-profit education and research arm of the Association. Electric Supply, Inc. is an active user of educational products they produce, as well as former members of the Board and Silver Level Contributors to the Foundation. Electric Supply, Inc. recently donated $50,000 to the Foundation joining national distributors and manufacturers in assuring the long term financial stability of the Education and Research efforts.
